"Smute", is the first model of a serie of smart and interactive mutes for brass players.
Besides its original functionality, when a smartphone is mounted on the mute, and after downloading the app and files, Smute adds a new palette of colors, such as (and not limited to): audio effects in real time (delay, reverb), loop function forward and backward depending on the XY Phone Axis position, sound reactive sequencer, and connectivity through OSC (over wifi) to any computer.
Smute includes an NFC tag, right on top (black sticker), to download the patch directly to your phone and also includes a small speaker, that can be connected from your phone to the inner part of the Smute. Just place your phone next to it, on iOS, the NFC sensor is next to the camera.
Smute is open source, so you can build your mode on MobMuplat using PD.
I'm working on developing a browser version to improve the overall user experience.
SONIC TIME CAPSULE GENERATOR
The Sonic Time Capsule is a web interface capable of generating physical audio capsules. Visitors of the Sonic Time Machine can create a personalized sound experience by mixing and render in the cloud their sonic creation, which can later accessed through a physical audio capsule. Each capsule contains a QR code and an NFC tag that grants access to the capsule player, allowing the sound created in the past to be played back at any future moment. While a password is required to render the capsules— restricted to visitors of the Sonic Time Machine in Fray Bentos, Uruguay—users can mix and interact with the sound at any time.
PENTABEAT
A wireless five-sided music interface featuring customizable button configurations. It includes directional arrow buttons (up, down, left, right), five side buttons, and one top button. The device connects via Bluetooth and is recognized by computers as an HID (Human Interface Device). Built from MDF, it is powered by an Arduino ESP32 microcontroller.
MAGNETO
An experimental analog multi-tape reader designed for sound exploration. Magneto features a magnet card stripe keyboard, a cassette player, a fixed tape reader, and a movable tape reader, allowing for unique audio manipulation and layering. The circuit is encased in a custom hard cardboard box.
Drawment
Is it is a drawer? is it an instrument?, NO, It is a DRAWMENT!!! As you open and close the drawers, the changing light levels inside of each drawer unit create dynamic soundscapes powered by an arduino and a X-osc circuit. This concept turns a simple drawer into a subtle, responsive sound experience, blending light and sound with domestic appliances.
